Join us on a city walk that delves into the history of how Aarhus transformed from a small Viking town into one of Denmark's most dynamic cities. Discover the fascinating development of the city, from the old streets and historic buildings to the modern architecture that characterizes the city today.
The trip is for everyone who wants to see Aarhus with new eyes and understand why the city has experienced an explosive growth. You will gain insight into a time when Aarhus felt surpassed by cities like Aalborg and Odense, yet managed to grow large with a unique speed that is rare in Danish history. Among other things, we will hear about visionary projects such as the national exhibition in 1909, which laid the foundation stone for the city we know today.
The city walk is led by local photographer Roberto Borgen, who has been documenting the town's development since 2016.
With his deep knowledge of the history and streets of Aarhus, you get a personal and vivid narrative that takes you on a time journey through the city's past and present.
